Celebrating Families Annual Carnival . 1500 people particated in The Resource Connections Annual Carnival Celebrating families with a disabled loved one. 22 businesses partnered and 5 churches used the carnival as their yearly missions outreach.700 lbs of food was raised in the 2 hour event which was donated to local food pantry

Outreach and connectionsThe Resource Connection provided disability awareness training to the 250 volunteers prior to the event. www.caringk9.com "Magic Special Events "in Richmond helped by bringing their awesome trains so that children and adults with disabilities were able to ride the trains. 3 local Chick-Fil-A resturants donated the Mascot , "the chick-fil-a cow" and coupons as well as many platters. Thank you to all the sign language interpreters who have been volunteering for 6 years so the deaf/hearing loss community may be involved in our all we do. Thank you to all the families who came to celebrate families caring for a loved one with a disability. The Resource Connection "Stevens' Memorial Adpative Equipment Lending Library" Local College Students from the Metro Richmond area majoring in music have been donating time for many years to our music camps for adults and children with disabilities Several local teachers volunteered from "The Faison School for Autism" and provided fun, games , arts,crafts and music to adults and children with disabilities.
